I am a committed, diligent, tenacious, and value guided Kenyan man who is passionate about the growth and development of people especially the youth within their socio-cultural context. I work as a mentor, guide, leader, and administrator to young people in a learning institution where I have personally grown and become greatly enriched by their experiences.

I am a committed Christian with ministerial duties in the catholic faith community as well as a scout leader, responsibilities that open and bring me very close to the community. I have training in Philosophy, Religious Studies (Theology) and Psychology. 

My passion and desire for MA in Applied Community Development are based on the desire to learn and develop better skills, tools and intervention approaches to be able to serve and engage the socio-cultural milieu that I find myself called to serve and influence their growth and increase value. My research interests, therefore, surround youth, culture, media and interconnectedness; peace promotion, environmental care, and general people development.

I am the director of Big Laurel Learning Center where we strive to promote healing and social change by providing education, outreach, and spiritual renewal, in solidarity with the people of southern West Virginia. Nestled in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains, on a 450 acre land trust, Big Laurel offers hospitality at our guest house and environmental education during our camps. Before moving to Big Laurel in 2016, I lived in New Orleans, where I discovered my passion for cooking and sharing good food. When there's not a pandemic going on, I play roller derby for the Chemical Valley Roller Girls. In my free time you can find me cooking, biking, hiking, or learning guitar.
